Fabulous February 2010 Challenge - 2010/01/27 10:12
If you're new, don't worry. You can join at any time and the rules are simple:

You need to set a reasonable goal that you can achieve in this coming month. So, pick a goal and post your plan. It can be losing weight, a physical goal (i.e. to lift a certain amount of weight, or drop your running time, whatever), or it could be lifestyle oriented.

This thread will be the thread for the entire challenge, offering daily check-ins. Posting where your plan and your commitments are listed will give you the opportunity to review your goals every single day.

You can post your plan at any time, and join in whenever you like. Just join!

You also might be interested in our ongoing challenge to get people moving throughout the day, the Mini-Mile-Anti-Sitting Challenge (it goes week by week.) It's located in the Fitness Challenges forum as well.

So, come out of the woodwork, and lets get things hopping!

Yay for me posting in advance for a chance on the challenges!

So, my goals for February are:

* Keep tracking my food intake and adjust as needed to meet my weight loss goals (currently at 1-2 lbs per week as the target.)

* 6 Days a week of scheduled workouts

* Mini-Mile challenge participation, with a minimum of 1 mile (afternoon), but an expectation of 2, and a preference for more if possible.

And on a non-fitness side, I have set some personal goals including the redesign of my website, and opening a Zazzle (or other, if you have suggestions) store for my artwork as I have had many requests for things like postcards, mugs, and t-shirt type things (I'd really prefer embroidered, rather than printed, and I'm talking to an actual clothing company, but I wonder if there isn't an on-demand way to offer it on my own rather than selling my design to the clothing company?)

I also have a writing goal of 1/3 of my new book I am working on done by May 7th, but I'd like to get at least 5 chapters done by the end of the month.

And that's enough for me to tackle right now.

I don't have too many goals. I'm using the K-I-S-S method!

1. Continue to train for the 3/20/2010 5K following the runnersworld.com training schedule. I will change my weight workouts to the BFL style 3x/week alternating between UB and LB.

2. Continue with my vegetarian meals eliminating eggs and dairy and adding in more legumes for fiber and protein and more whole grains.

3. With regards to becoming a vegetarian, I need to add in different veggies. I will try 1 new veggie a week as follows:

Week of:
2/1 - kale
2/7 - Collard Greens
2/14- Broccoli (yes, I've had this before, just only 1-2x/year and it's loaded with nutrients so I need it more!)
2/21- Sweet Potatoes (I've never liked these in the past so I'm going to give them another go!)

And that's it! I'm going to continue to take my multi-vitamin and other supps. I have fish oil and lots of it so I will continue to also take that, but once it's gone it's gone.

Non fitness goals:

Make more clothes. I have 2 more dresses that I would like to make and my girls have some clothes also they would like me to make. I'm thinking about getting the book Weekend Sewing by Heather Ross.

And we need to redo my girls' rooms (paint, move around, new carpet, closets, etc) This may come sooner or later, just depending on time and money.
